  • April 16, 2026 – April 19, 2026: Les Ballets de Monte Carlo will present Miniatures, a program featuring new “miniature ballets” by seven choreographers, including Mimoza Koike (female), Francesco Nappa (male), Jeroen Verbruggen (male), Julien Guerin (male), Jean-Christophe Maillot (male), and Jean-Christophe Maillot (male).
• Amy Seiwert and Andrea Schermoly for Smuin Contemporary Ballet – Program: Future Forward
  • April 17, 2026 – May 10, 2026: Smuin Contemporary Ballet will present Future Forward, a program featuring World Premiere works by Amy Seiwert (female), and Andrea Schermoly (female), alongside works by Kate Skarpetowska (female) and Michael Smuin (male).
• Leslie Kraus for Ririe Woodbury Dance Company – Program: Vantage Point
  • April 17, 2026 – April 18, 2026: Ririe Woodbury Dance Company will present Vantage Point, a program featuring world premiere work by Leslie Kraus (female), alongside works by Keerati Jinakunwiphat (female), and Tzveta Kassabova (female).

Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

• Kayla Armgardt, Valerie Mae Browne, Anna Khachatryan, and Claudia Logi for American Liberty Ballet – Program: Epica
  • On April 17, 2026, American Liberty Ballet will present Epica, a world premiere work by Anna Khachatryan (female) & Valerie Mae Browne (female), alongside new works by Kayla Armgardt (female), Pedro Pires (male), Benjamin Briones (male), Keith Reeves (male), and Claudia Logi (female). 
• Megan Doheny for Backhausdance at  LADP
  • On April 18, 2026, Backhausdance will present a program featuring world premiere works by Zachary Ryan Schlegal (male), Megan Doheny (female), Jennifer Backhaus (female), alongside a work by Tommie-Waheed Evans (male).
• Maria A. Konrad for Nashville Ballet – Program: Sherlock
  • May 1, 2026 – May 3, 2026, Nashville Ballet will present Sherlock, a program featuring a world premiere work by Maria A. Konrad (female) alongside a Tennessee premiere by Penny Saunders (female), and a work by Donald Byrd (male).
• Rasika Kumar for Abhinaya Dance Company – Program: Trikaala – Then, Now, Becoming
  • On May 9, 2026, Abhinaya Dance Company will present Then, Now, Becoming, a solo work by choreographer and dancer Rasika Kumar (female).
• Elena Glurjidze for Cape Ballet Africa – Program: Swan Lake
  • August 7, 2026 – August 21, 2026: Cape Ballet Africa will present Swan Lake, a program featuring new choreography by Elena Glurjidze (female). 
• Alysa Pires and Jennifer Archibald for New York City Ballet – Programs: Fall Fashion Gala & Contemporary Choreography I
  • On October 1, 2025, New York City Ballet will present its annual Fall Fashion Gala, featuring world premiere works by Jennifer Archibald (female), and Alysa Pires (female). Those world premiere works will also be featured in Contemporary Choreography I alongside works by Justin Peck (male) and Kyle Abraham (male) through October 14, 2026. 
• Pam Tanowitz for New York City Ballet – Program: Adrian Danchig-Waring Farewell
  • On October 18, 2026, New York City Ballet will present Adrian Danchig-Waring’s farewell, which will feature a world premiere work by Pam Tanowitz (female), alongside works by George Balanchine (male) and Lar Lubovitch (male).
• Jennifer Archibald for New York City Ballet – Program: Contemporary Choreography II
  • February 6, 2027 – February 27, 2027: New York City Ballet will present Contemporary Choreography II, a program featuring a world premiere work by Jennifer Archibald (female), alongside works by Justin Peck (male), and Christopher Wheeldon (male).

Leadership Changes

• Lucy Guerin Inc. Announces New Executive Director and Co-CEO
  • On March 23, 2026, Lucy Guerin Inc. announced that Kylie McRae (female) has been appointed as Executive Director and Co-CEO of the company. 
• Co3 Contemporary Dance Announces Departure of Artistic Director
  • In March 2026, Co3 Contemporary Dance announced that Raewyn Hill (female) will depart the company at the end of 2026. The company also announced that a search for her successor will start later this year. 
• Kansas City Ballet Announces Departure of Executive Director
  • On March 31, 2026, Kansas City Ballet announced the departure of Executive Director David Gray (male), effective December 2026. No successor has been named as of the date of this post. 
• Dancenorth Australia Announces Departure of Artistic Directors
  • On March 31, 2026, Dancenorth Australia announced that Kyle Page (male) and Amber Haines (female) will depart the company in 2027. No successor has been named as of the date of this post. 
• Chamber Dance Project Announces Retirement of Artistic Director
  • In April 2026, Chamber Dance Project announced that Founder and Artistic Director Diane Coburn Bruning (female) will retire in June 2026. No successor has been named as of the date of this post.
