• Alice Klock and Emilie Leriche for Whim W’him – Program: Winter ‘26
  • January 16, 2026 – January 24, 2026: Whim W’him will present Winter ‘26, A program featuring new creations by Alice Klock (female) & Florian Lochner (male), Emilie Leriche (female), and Olivier Wevers (male).
• Krissy Keefer for Dance Brigade & Dance Mission Theater – Program: Match Girl
  • January 17, 2026 -February 1, 2026: Dance Brigade & Dance Mission Theater will present Match Girl, an evening-length premiere by choreographer Krissy Keefer (female), the program will also feature video by Lena Gatchalian (female), and set design by Lisa Calderon (female).
• Nacera Belaza for Opera Ballett Vlaanderen – Program: Rites
  • January 17, 2026 – February 5, 2026: Opera Ballett Vlaanderen will present Rites, a program featuring new commissions by Nacera Belaza (female), and Shahar Binyamini (male), alongside a work by Pina Bausch (female)
• Zhongmei Li for Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company – Program: Lunar New Year Celebration Tour
  • January 18, 2026 – February 25, 2026: Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will present their Lunar New Year Celebration Tour, a program featuring premieres by Lawrence Jin (male) and Zhongmei Li (female).
• Arielle Smith for Dutch National Ballet Junior Company – Program: Ballet Beats
  • January 22, 2026 – March 2, 2026: the Dutch National Ballet Junior Company will present Ballet Beats, a program featuring world premiere works by Arielle Smith (female), Joshua Junker (male), and Mthuthuzeli November (male) alongside a work by George Balanchine (male).

Female Choreography Commissions, World Premieres, and Programming

• Tiler Peck and Anne Plamondon for the Joyce Theater – Program: Sons of Echo
  • January 14, 2026 – January 25, 2026: the Joyce Theater will present Sons of Echo, a program featuring world premiere works by Tiler Peck (female), and Anne Plamondon (female) alongside works by Lucinda Childs (female), and Drew Jacoby (female).
• Marion Zurbach for TANZ Bielefeld – Program: 360°
  • January 23, 2026 – February 21, 2026: TANZ Bielefeld will present 360°, a program featuring a premiere by Marion Zurbach (female) alongside a work by Felix Landerer (male).
• Joanna Lige for Ballet Kelowna – Program: Restless Balance
  • February 13, 2026 – February 14, 2026: Ballet Kelowna will present Restless Balance, a program featuring a world premiere work by choreographers Joanna Lige (female), Donaldo Nava (male), and Kurt Werner (male), alongside works by John Alleyne (male) and Cameron Fraser-Monroe (male).
• Gypsy Snider for ODC/Dance – Program: Dance Downtown
  • March 5, 2026 – March 8, 2026: ODC/Dance will present Dance Downtown, a program featuring new works by Gypsy Snider (female), alongside works by Mia J. Chong (female) and Brenda Way (female)
• Natasha Adorlee, Mariana Sobral, Dalia Rawson, Deborah Le, and Lyla Davey for New Ballet – Program: Fast Forward
  • March 27, 2026 – March 28, 2026: New Ballet will present Fast Forward, a program featuring new works by Natasha Adorlee (female), Mariana Sobral (female), Deborah Le (female) and Lyla Davey (female), Julio Hong (male), Jay Torres (male), Joseph Phillips (male) and Dalia Rawson (female) in collaboration with Erica Patton (female).
• Mimoza Koike for Les Ballets de Monte Carlo – Program: Miniatures
  • April 16, 2026 – April 19, 2026: Les Ballets de Monte Carlo will present Miniatures, a program featuring new “miniature ballets” by seven choreographers, including Mimoza Koike (female), Francesco Nappa (male), Jeroen Verbruggen (male), Julien Guerin (male), Jean-Christophe Maillot (male), and Jean-Christophe Maillot (male).

Leadership Changes

• Gibney Company Announces New Resident Choreographer
  • On January 8, 2026: the Gibney Company announced that Lucinda Childs (female) had been appointed as Resident Choreographer for the company. Kicking off a four-year residency with the company. 
• Bielefeld Theatre Announces New Director of Dance for TANZ Bielefeld
  • On January 8, 2026: the Bielefeld Theatre announced that Ella Rothschild (female) will succeed Felix Landerer (male) as Director of TANZ Bielefeld, effective at the beginning of the 2026/2027 season. 
• Nashville Ballet Announces New Second Company Director (NB2)
  • On January 9, 2026: Nashville Ballet announced that Dmitri Kulev (male), will succeed Maria Konrad (female) as Director of NB2, Nashville Ballet’s second company. Kulev also serves as co-school director for the School of Nashville Ballet.
• Joffrey Ballet Rehearsal Director Announces Departure
  • At the end of 2025: Long-time Joffrey Ballet Rehearsal Director Nicolas Blanc (male) announced that he would be departing his role at the end of the 2025/2026 season to focus on his career as an independent choreographer.
