DESCRIPTION:Creative Capital for the Arts \nFor the 2027 grant cycle\, Creative Capital invites professional artists to propose experimental\, original\, bold new works in Visual Arts\, Performing Arts (Dance\, Theater\, Music/Jazz)\, Film\, and Literature. SUMMARY:New England States Touring (NEST 1 and 2)
DESCRIPTION:There are two distinct grant opportunities for the New England States Touring (NEST) program: NEST 1 and NEST 2. Organizations engaging rural communities and/or Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities are encouraged to apply. \nNEST 1\nFunds the public presentation and community engagement activities of a New England artist presented by a New England nonprofit organization based in a different New England state from the artist’s home state. \nNEST 2\nFunds the public presentation and community engagement activities of a New England artist presented by two New England nonprofit organizations. A NEST 2 tour must include one presenting organization based inside of the artist’s home state and one other organization from outside of the artist’s home state. \nBoth presenting organizations must complete their own application and both applications must be submitted for the same deadline. Both the in-state and out-of-state presenting organizations must have their grant applications approved in order to for all presenters to receive funding. If only the out-of-state partner’s application is approved for funding\, the engagement may be converted into a NEST 1 grant. \nA “presenter” is defined as an organization that financially compensates an artist/ensemble (where the artist/ensemble is a separate entity from the presenter) for performance(s) in the presenter’s community. Producing organizations that solely create artistic work or assemble artists to perform as ensembles for performances are not eligible to apply. Presenters may include arts centers\, festivals\, social service organizations\, libraries\, schools\, and more. \nThere are three application deadlines each year. They are the first business days of August\, December\, and April. In NEFA’s FY26 (June 1\, 2025 – May 31\, 2026)\, there will only be two deadlines: December 1\, 2025 and April 1\, 2026.\nPresenting organizations may submit a maximum of two NEST 1 and/or NEST 2 applications\, in any combination\, per deadline .\nGrants provide up to 60% of the artist fee and range from $500 to a maximum of $5\,000. Artists’ fees may include costs for creation of new work\, travel\, and per diem.\nApplications with artist fees under $2\,000 may request the full artist fee.\nThe artist must be listed as NEST-Eligible on the CreativeGround directory.\nOrganizations may submit a maximum of two NEST 1 and/or NEST 2 applications\, in any combination\, per deadline. NEST grants are awarded through a competitive selection process\, and the amount of funding awarded is based on the extent to which the project meets the funding criteria. Many applicants receive partial funding and should be prepared to meet the artist fee with other funding sources. \nELIGIBILITY: \nBe a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization\, school\, federally recognized Indian tribal government\, or unit of state or local government. (Nonprofit organizations do not have to be arts organizations. Organizations that do not have a federal tax identification number may apply if part of an official government agency). Fiscal agents cannot be funded through NEST. \nBe based in New England (Connecticut\, Maine\, Massachusetts\, New Hampshire\, Rhode Island\, and Vermont). \nHave a Unique Entity ID in SAM.gov. The federal government requires that all NEFA organizational grant recipients supported by federal funds register for a SAM.gov UEI (Unique Entity ID). Getting a UEI is a free process and can be done by visiting SAM.gov. SUMMARY:Palm Desert Choreography Festival
DESCRIPTION:Palm Desert Choreography Festival is a dynamic live platform for dancemakers and dancers to showcase their work and powerfully engages audiences around dance in the Coachella Valley. Dedicated to dance as an art form\, the Festival presents new\, original choreography and features a competition in two divisions\, a Lifetime Achievement Award presentation\, outreach projects\, workshops\, and networking opportunities for choreographers and dancers. \nSince 1998\, the Festival has presented 807 original pieces of choreography and awarded over $900\,000 to choreographers. \nEligibility: \nSaturday \nChoreographers working with professional dancers of seasoned artistry and fully mature technique. \nDancers must be at least 18 years of age. \nChoreography must not exceed 10 minutes. \nSunday \nChoreographers working with dancers of all ages from aspiring and emerging companies\, colleges\, academies and studios.\nChoreography must not exceed 7 minutes \nComplete an electronic application form and provide a video link per work submitted. \nMultiple works per choreographer may be submitted. Separate application forms and video links are required. \nIncomplete materials or those exceeding the time limits listed above will not be processed. \nThe video link must contain only the choreography being submitted and remain active until August 31\, 2026. No exceptions. \nProfessional recordings are not required\, but attention to quality\, clarity and point of view are essential for accurate judging of choreography. A straight shot is preferred. The Festival panel will not view media-enhanced\, highly edited or promotional-type submissions. Do not submit footage with jump cuts\, dissolves. etc. \nFinalists will be selected for both divisions based on the materials submitted. \nFinalists chosen will travel to Palm Desert\, California to perform the submitted choreography live at the McCallum Theatre before a general audience and panel of judges and compete for cash awards. \nFinalists are responsible for travel arrangements and other related expenses. DESCRIPTION:The Indigo Arts Alliance studio located in Portland\, Maine is the host site for our Mentorship Artists Residency program. This program is the heart of IAA\, modeling our values of global community building. SUMMARY:Small Plates Choreography Festival
DESCRIPTION:CALL FOR DANCE MAKERS \nApplications are open for Small Plates Choreography Festival Austin 2025\, a series of two curated dance performances to be presented on Friday\, September 5 and Saturday\, September 6\, at Ground Floor Theatre located in the nationally renowned eclectic artistic community of Austin\, Texas. \nHosted by Austin Movement Artist Jennifer Williams of Haven Movement Company. \nProgramming: Dance works of any dance genre up to 10 minutes in length will be considered for inclusion in one of two performances. \nSmall Plates welcomes the applications of all genres of dance. We are most interested in work that explores the intimate nature of this performance\, the uniqueness of the venue (more below)\, and the impact on the community and our audience members. Accepted applicants are expected to perform the piece with which they applied. \nVenue: \nGround Floor Theatre is a black box theatre venue that seats up to 114 audience members. It is fully equipped with wings\, backstage and a green room with a bathroom. The floor is smooth cement and is not sprung. Shoes are welcome to be worn during performances\, but barefoot dance is accepted and commonly seen in this venue. Performers will remain backstage during the entirety of the show. \nTechnical Support: Basic stage lighting and a video projector will be available. Choreographers will provide three lighting cues with basic looks (no specials) and any sound and video files relevant to their work within one week of acceptance. Technical rehearsals will take place on Thursday\, September 4 for local artists\, and the day of the performance for out of town artists. Each artist will be given 20-30 minutes for their tech\, and call for all performers is two hours prior to showtime. \nPost-Performance Talkback: Small Plates creates a growth environment by facilitating feedback sessions with the audience after each performance. All performers and choreographers are expected to remain on-site after the performance to engage with the audience in dialogue about their work. The artist/audience interface is what makes Small Plates truly special\, and the arts-infused community of Austin\, Texas will undoubtedly bring thought-provoking inquiry. Please consider this discussion as part of the performance when considering your travel needs. \nVideo: Please submit a video link for the work you would to present in your application. Applications without a video link will not be considered (please do not email the video) and montage videos cannot be adjudicated. Studio footage is acceptable. Completed work will be given preference over work-in-progress. \nFees: An application fee of $50.00 per piece is required. Your fee must be paid via Paypal before your work will be considered. Applications will be reviewed and selected through a peer artist review process. \nSelected artists will be invited to participate in the 18 month long 2024/2025 residency which will begin on September 1\, 2024 and conclude on February 28\, 2026. \nArtists selected through the panel review process will receive residency fees supported through The Jerome Foundation and additional resources supported by the Davis/Dauray Family Fund\, and the Harkness Foundation for Dance; and by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council\, and The New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. \nThrough the Artist-in-Residence Program\, Movement Research supports rigorous and wide-ranging artistic investigations that are movement-based\, but that may incorporate other disciplines and collaborations\, with a focus on experimentation. DESCRIPTION:The Aimed Dance Summer Fest faculty invite you to experience the depth and breadth of contemporary dance through this unique training and performance experience. The ADSF intensive is open to pre-professional dancers starting at 14 years of age looking to enhance their performance and choreography style to professionals seeking a summer of self-investment. Running for two weeks (July 7 – 19\, 2025)\, dancers may choose to join us for one week or two full weeks. Each week will culminate in a performance event featuring the intensive participants alongside selected professional companies and performers. ADSF is opening internships and work study scholarships offering dancers 18+ years of age an opportunity to learn a new skill or advance their skills in production and administrative aspects of operating a dance festival. DESCRIPTION:Making it Public (MIP) for Massachusetts Artists is a free five-week virtual workshop series designed by Forecast Public Art (FPA) to support artists of all disciplines in exploring and expanding their public art making practice. Wattis Foundation. \nCA$H Dance accepts applications from dance artists\, partnerships or collectives of two or more dance artists\, and dance organizations residing and making work in the Bay Area*.
