DESCRIPTION:The goal of DCASE’s CityArts Program is to encourage the attainment of artistic excellence and financial stability\, and to incentivize innovation related to citywide priorities. \nNonprofit arts and culture organizations of all sizes and across all artistic disciplines can apply for general operating grants and project grants focused on rebuilding and recovery across all artistic disciplines. Project grants will support initiatives that have the potential to impact the Chicago arts sector at large. \nEligibility Criteria\nTo be eligible to apply for a CityArts grant\, applicants must meet the following criteria. \nOrganizations must: \n• Have a primary mission to create\, produce\, present\, provide\, or support arts and culture services for the public OR have an arts-focused division/department/program with its own budget. \n• Offer programs in an artistic discipline\, operate as a museum\, or serve as an arts service organization. \n• Be a nonprofit\, 501(c)3 organization incorporated for at least 12 months prior to applying (must have been incorporated as of January 2020). General operating applicants must have been incorporated within the state of Illinois. Boxes will not be accepted). \n• Primarily serve the residents of the city of Chicago (demonstrate that\, on average\, half of all programming occurs within the city of Chicago limits). \n• Organizations that received CityArts general operating support in 2018\, 2019 and 2020 are required to take 2021 off from general operating support. Organizations that received funding in 2018\, 2019 or 2020—but not all three—can reapply for 2021 CityArts general operating funding. Organizations can apply for a 2021 Project Grant even if they received CityArts support in 2018\, 2019 and 2020. \n• Special eligibility criteria for general operating grants only: Organizations must not be receiving other significant support (cash or In Kind) from the City of Chicago or a City of Chicago Delegate Agency. SUMMARY:The Guggenheim Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:In 1925\, Senator Simon Guggenheim and his wife\, Olga\, established the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation in memory of their late son\, a promising young scholar who died at the age of 17. In his first letter of gift\, Senator Guggenheim wrote that the organization’s aim was to “add to the educational\, literary\, artistic\, and scientific power of this country.” The Guggenheim Foundation offers fellowships to exceptional individuals in pursuit of scholarship in any field of knowledge and creation of any artform\, under the freest possible conditions and irrespective of race\, color\, or creed. \nGuggenheim Fellowships are intended for mid-career individuals who have demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts and exhibit great promise for their future endeavors. \nThe amounts of grants vary\, and the Foundation does not guarantee it will fully fund any project. Working with a fixed annual budget\, the Foundation strives to allocate its funds as equitably as possible\, taking into consideration the Fellows’ other resources and the purpose and scope of their plans. Members of the teaching profession receiving sabbatical leave on full or part salary are eligible for appointment\, as are those holding other fellowships and appointments at research centers. \nEligibility: \n\nAll applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. or Canada at the time of application.\nPersons who have already received a Guggenheim\nFellowship are not eligible to apply for another.\nGuggenheim Fellowships are not available for the creation of residencies\, curriculum development\, or any type of educational program\, nor are they available to support the development of websites or blogs.\nOur awards are intended for individuals only; they are not available to organizations\, institutions\, or groups.\nGuggenheim Fellowships are not open to students (undergraduate\, graduate\, or postgraduate). SUMMARY:Harvard University- Radcliffe Fellowship Program
DESCRIPTION:Radcliffe fellows are exceptional scientists\, writers\, scholars\, public intellectuals\, practitioners\, and artists whose work is making a difference in their professional fields and in the larger world. \nBased in Radcliffe Yard—a sanctuary in the heart of Harvard University—fellows join a uniquely interdisciplinary and creative community. A fellowship at Radcliffe is an opportunity to step away from usual routines and dive deeply into a project. With access to Harvard’s unparalleled resources\, Radcliffe fellows develop new tools and methods\, challenge artistic and scholarly conventions\, and illuminate our past and our present. \nThroughout the year\, fellows convene regularly to share their work in progress. Coming from diverse disciplines and perspectives\, they challenge each other’s ideas and support each other’s ambitions. Many say that it is the best year of their professional lives.

SUMMARY:The Virginia B. Toulmin Fellowship for Women Leaders in Dance
DESCRIPTION:The Virginia B. Toulmin Fellowship for Women Leaders in Dance is a unique fellowship designed for women choreographers and composers that promotes broader gender equity in the field of dance. These fellows work on projects that expand the way we think about the history\, practice\, and performance of dance. There is no expectation of a finished product. CBA Fellows are encouraged to ask questions and take risks. They gain colleagues they would not otherwise encounter. These engagements between artists and scholars\, two communities that do not often intersect\, strengthen and deepen the work of both.
