SUMMARY:UNCSA Choreographic Institute Residency
DESCRIPTION:The Choreographic Institute is a four-week residency designed to foster the development of new work by emerging choreographers of exceptional promise. Through this initiative\, UNCSA School of Dance looks to deepen its mission of developing original works\, supporting artists\, and giving back to the broader community. \nThe UNCSA Choreographic Institute is open to emerging choreographers who have a passion for developing and improving their skills as a choreographer. The institute will assist in improving one’s artistic voice by providing insight and critical feedback in a process-driven environment. \nThe 2024 Choreographic Institute will take place June 23 to July 20. \nThe Choreographic Institute program looks for emerging choreographers ages 21 and up who exhibit a strong choreographic voice and exceptional promise. Two contemporary choreographers and two contemporary ballet choreographers will be selected. Choreographers must have five years of choreographic experience. Applicants must be U.S. residents in order to be considered.\nDEADLINE: April 1\, 2024

SUMMARY:South Arts Individual Artist Career Opportunity Grant
DESCRIPTION:The Individual Artist Career Opportunity Grant supports a milestone opportunity in an individual artist’s career that is likely to lead to substantial and significant career advancement. Grants of up to $2\,000 are available to support eligible proposed and completed (retroactive) opportunities taking place between July 1\, 2023\, and June 30\, 2024. \nEligibility: \n\nBe an individual artist working in one of the following artistic disciplines: visual arts\, craft\, traditional arts/folklife\, photography\, performing arts\, literary arts\, media arts\, interdisciplinary arts or multimedia arts\nBe at least 18 years of age\nCannot be a matriculated student in a graduate\, undergraduate\, or high school program\nBe a United States citizen\, lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence\, or have permission from the Department of Homeland Security to work permanently in the U.S.\nBe a resident of the South Arts Region: Alabama\, Florida\, Georgia\, Kentucky\, Louisiana\, Mississippi\, North Carolina\, South Carolina\, or Tennessee\nExpect to maintain residency in the region during the award period. Applicants may be asked to submit a copy of their official state I.D./driver’s license as proof of residency later in the process as verification of eligibility\nSubmit a complete and accurate application\n\nAPPLICATION OPENS: July 15\, 2024
