This is Dance Data Project® (DDP)’s seventh annual study examining the gender distribution of leadership at ballet and classically based companies in the United States. This is DDP’s fourth iteration of the report examining the Largest 150 companies. This report analyzes the gender distribution of Artistic, Executive, and Associate/Assistant Directors, and for the third year, includes Heads of Schools, Heads of Second Companies, and Rehearsal Directors. DDP continues to expand our analysis of leadership positions within ballet, and, for the first time, the gender distribution of music directors and conductors among the Largest 150 companies is examined.
The Largest 150 U.S. Ballet & Classically Based Companies Leadership Report is sourced from DDP’s annual ranking of the Largest 150 Ballet and Classically Based Companies, measured by total expenditure.
