This is Dance Data Project’s® first-ever Ballet School Leadership Data Byte, which examines the gender distribution of leadership within ballet schools affiliated with the Largest 150 Ballet & Classically Based Companies.
“This is DDP’s kickoff study of 2026 and represents an exciting expansion for DDP, as it is our first examination of the gender distribution of school directors within the Largest 150 ballet companies’ affiliated schools,” says Elizabeth “Liza” Yntema, DDP’s Founder and President. She continues, “School directors play a critical role in shaping future dancers, choreographers, and leaders of the industry, and therefore warrant deeper investigation.”
