• Melissa Barak for Los Angeles Ballet at the Hollywood Bowl
  • On September 8, 2026, Los Angeles Ballet will be at the Hollywood Bowl, presenting a new work by Melissa Barak (female) featuring music by Gabriela Ortiz (female), alongside a work by George Balanchine (male), alongside a performance by the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
• Yuiko Masukawa and DaYoung Jung for BalletMet – Program: Future Icons: A Choreography Project
  • September 10, 2026 – September 12, 2026: BalletMet will present Future Icons: A Choreography Project, a program featuring new works by DaYoung Jung (female), Yuiko Masukawa (female), and Eric Figueredo (male).

  • September 11, 2026 – November 19, 2026: National Dance Company Wales will present Blue | Glas, a new touring program featuring a world premiere work by Alesandra Seutin (female), alongside a work by Theo Clinkard (male).

• Caili Quan, Jennifer Owen, and Katarzyna Skarpetowska for the Midwest Trust Center – Program: New Dance Partners ‘The Ultimate Collaboration’ 
  • September 18, 2026 – September 19, 2026: the Midwest Trust Center will present New Dance Partners ‘The Ultimate Collaboration’, a program featuring world premiere works by four choreographers working with four companies. The choreographers include Caili Quan (female) with Kansas City Ballet, Christopher Page-Sanders (male) with Owen/Cox Dance Group, Jennifer Owen (female) with Störling Dance Theater, and Katarzyna Skarpetowska (female) for Regina Klenjoski Dance Company.
• Crystal Pite for Festival Aperto 2026
  • October 1, 2026 – October 4, 2026: Festival Aperto will present a world premiere site-specific work by Crystal Pite (female) featuring dancers from Kidd Pivot and Nederlands Dans Theater. 
• Nanine Linning for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam – Program: La Mer
  • October 8, 2026 – March 3, 2027: Scapino Ballet Rotterdam will present La Mer, a new production by Nanine Linning (female).
• Sarah Baltzinger for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani – Program: See You Sunday & The Promise
  • November 13, 2026 – December 10, 2026: GöteborgsOperans Danskompani will present See You Sunday & The Promise, a program featuring world premiere works by Sarah Baltzinger (female) & Isaiah Wilson (male), and Felix Landerer (male).
• Imre van Opstal and Bobbi Jene Smith for GöteborgsOperans Danskompani – Program: Bare State
  • January 29, 2027 – February 24, 2027: GöteborgsOperans Danskompani will present Bare State, a program featuring new creations by choreographic duos Imre (female) & Marne van Opstal (male), and Bobbi Jene Smith (female) & Or Schraiber (male).

Leadership Changes

• Joburg Ballet Announces Departure of CEO
  • On August 28, 2026, Joburg Ballet announced that CEO Elroy Fillis-Bel (male) will step down from his role effective August 31, 2026. No successor has been announced as of the date of this post. 
• Ballet Festival Korea Announces New Artistic Director
  • On September 1, 2025, Ballet Festival Korea announced that Choi Tae-ji (female) has succeeded Kim Juwon (female) as Artistic Director of the festival. 
• Eugene Ballet Announces New Executive Director
  • Eugene Ballet has announced that Bryan Matluk (male) will succeed Josh Neckels (male) as Executive Director of the company effective October 2026.
• Joffrey Ballet Announces CEO Transition
  • On September 3, 2026, Joffrey Ballet announced that CEO Greg Cameron (male) will depart the company at the end of 2027. No successor has been named as of the date of this post. 
• Oklahoma City Ballet Appoints Resident Choreographer
  • In August 2026, Oklahoma City Ballet announced that DaYoung Jung (female) has been appointed as Resident Choreographer for the company.
