Fertile Ground 2026-2027 Season

December 31

Fertile Ground is a NON-CURATED showcase for emerging and/or established artists. The evening consists of work shown by six choreographers, followed by a moderated discussion that integrates the choreographers, dancers, and audience members. This series offers an excellent opportunity for participants to share new and developing work, and receive informative feedback about it in a supportive environment. Choreographers must be present for tech, presentation, and discussion.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Artists must be located within New York City’s five boroughs to be considered for Fertile Ground (No out of town artists will be selected to participate in the series).
  • Fertile Ground is a showcase opportunity for early-career and established choreographers. Students who are currently enrolled in an academic program are NOT eligible for Fertile Ground.
  • Choreographers applying to perform with dancers currently enrolled in an academic program or competition-based environment are NOT eligible for Fertile Ground.
  • If you are intending to apply to the Digging in Group- DIG Residency Program, please wait until those results are finalized by the end of September. (participation in both is not possible)
  • Each choreographer/company may participate only once per season.

DEADLINE: Ongoing – first-come, first-served until the performance dates are full.
